Half way done
By cyberdog on March 9th, 2010Posted In: Blog
I’m just about half way done with the layouts for the new WarriorBorn issue. It’s going to be pretty good. The last issue finished at 35 pages. This one will longer than that. It’s action packed!
What’s up,
How’s every body doing out there? Things are going good here a warriorborn. I am posting the
last page of the current issue. It was really fun creating this issue and I learned a lot
from the many talented people here on the net. I will be out of the loop for the next month
or so creating the next issue. The next issue will not post until I have it all complete.
I think this is pretty important because there were a lot of readers that I gained, but
there were also a lot of readers that I lost because I did not have a consistent update
schedule. I already have the next script from Rembert and it is very very good. I’m doing
some sketches and the layouts right now. I really want to show you guys what I’m doing but
I don’t want to run into what I did in the last issue. There are only 36 pages in the issue
but it took over a year to post at all because I was drawing them as the weeks went on. I
think I owe it to the readers to have a consistent update schedule and fantastic artwork. I
feel like I can only do this if I stopped and took the time to complete it all in one swoop.
As you all know I did six pages for Heroes Unite on Drunk Duck. The creator of that comic
posted the pages that we did for that story and then stopped at because of personal reasons.
I don’t know when the current issue of heroes unite will start back up again, but if you go
to my deviant Art site you can see the pages that I did for that script. This is another
reason why I think I should stop and finish the next issue of WarriorBorn before posting.
You can catch me in here on the blogs or on twitter. Until then, Cyberdog out.

Yes that’s right there are only two pages left on this current issue. I’ve got the script for the next issue and I’m laying it out now. I know that I’ve been holding back on showing you all the inks for the pages. I’ll catch you all up soon. I don’t’ get to many comments on this blog, but I’ll put it up just for fun.
I’m still working on my Kubert courespondence coarse. Its going pretty good. It requires more drawing than you know. Its fun though. There are alot of sketches that you have to create costumes, and creating superheros. There are actuallly alot of steps to creating a superhero. I really didn’t know the research that goes in to a hero. Of course I knew some, but Kubert really wants you to study science and other areas to create comics.
Well Back to the drawing board,
Jermaine
It’s a brand new year. A lot of good stuff happened last year. It started off with my wife and I having our first baby. Then me starting a new job. The year just kept rolling from there. WarriorBorn continued to move forward. I did two podcasts on WarriorBorn. That was really fun. Then I won “Most improved art” for 2009 back in August. I was really excited about that. I ended the year by doing 5 pages as a guest artist for Heros Unite. I also started a Joe Kubert drawing course. I hope and pray that 2010 will be a great year for WarriorBorn. We are looking forward to the next issues and finally going to print. I might even make it to a comic convension or two.
Until then,
Jermaine
WarriorBorn goes to print soon.
I’m working on the second to last page for this issue. There is one more page to render, and I will start getting the comic ready for print. I’m going to print through a web based company called Ka-Blam. It’s a print on demand site. I’ve bought comics from them before and the quality is great. The production cost is really low compared to a company like Lulu. I can’t wait to get this comic printed. It’s the best way to read WarriorBorn.
Alright back to work.
Here are some inks from the page that I am furiously working on to get done for this weekend. I’m also working on the page after that at the same time. I got alot of pans on the fire right now, but it will all get finished soon.
Thanks for checkin it out.

I hope to get the next WarriorBorn page up this week, but there are the holidays in the way. I’m currently working on three other projects besides the comic. Things are rollin’ and you will see them all soon. I’ll write a longer blog later.
Hey everyone, friends and spammers. I’m currently working on this weeks page. I’m doing something different with the inks on this page. I’m inking with a brush, and I’m working with drawing ink #17. It’s going pretty good. It reminds me of painting so it feels good to my hands. I think I will still use a pen to do the technical stuff like backgrounds.
As for the comic site I’ve been playing with the HTML. It’s been fun. I’m using Dreamweaver to modify he site. Check it out.
For now,
Cyberdog out.

Just some inks from the last WarriorBorn comic page. I really like the look of this page. It was really fun to do. Of course Photoshop made rendering the fire a lot easier in color.
For now CyberDog out.
Man this has been a busy month. Well last Friday I was on the TGT podcast. It was prett cool. I bought i was going to be bonnarded with techical questions, but it wasn’t bad at all. I had fun. Phil (Frump) stopped by and helped out Kurt Sasso, the host. The only thing missing was a six pack. It was like old buddies just talkin about comics.
I’m going to be posting new WarriorBorn pages starting in November. I held out the last pages for the end of the year. I’ll start the new issue in January. Believe me the next one won’t take that long to finish is. Okay well back to work.
